How to migrate from SimpleTalk to Centerfy: numbers, prompt, GoHighLevel and go-live.
MigrateBy CenterfyUpdated
The short answer
A SimpleTalk migration has five parts: cover inbound calls today, save the prompt and data that GoHighLevel still holds, move or replace the phone numbers, rebuild the agent on Centerfy with the same prompt and booking rules, then test every path before switching traffic. Centerfy's team does the build and the connections. You provide the prompt, access to your Twilio account and GoHighLevel location, and the test calls. Nothing is copied from SimpleTalk's systems, because nobody can reach them.
Before you start: what you can and cannot recover
SimpleTalk ran as a layer on top of your own accounts, which is the good news. Most of what you built is still in GoHighLevel and in your carrier account. What lived only in SimpleTalk's dashboard is gone.
| Item | Where it lives | Recoverable? |
|---|---|---|
| Agent prompt and instructions | GoHighLevel location, Settings, Custom Values | Usually yes: copy the text out now. |
| Contacts, tags, notes, conversations | GoHighLevel location | Yes: export contacts to CSV; tags and notes stay on the records. |
| Calendars and booking rules | GoHighLevel calendars | Yes: they keep working; the new agent connects to the same calendars. |
| Phone numbers | Your Twilio or Vonage account | Yes, if the account is yours. See the phone numbers guide. |
| Call recordings and transcripts | SimpleTalk's storage; sometimes your Twilio console | Usually no. Check Twilio Monitor and Logs for call records and any Twilio-side recordings. |
| Voice, interruption and speed settings | SimpleTalk dashboard | No. Describe what you want and Centerfy sets it up. |
| Outbound campaign history | SimpleTalk, partly GoHighLevel call logs | Partial: GoHighLevel shows the calls that were logged back. |
The migration, step by step
Cover the phones today
Before anything else, make sure callers reach someone. In your Twilio console, forward each affected number to a person or a mobile phone. If the numbers are not in an account you control, publish a working number on your website and Google Business Profile today. Route urgent callbacks and uncertain appointments to a human.
Save what GoHighLevel still holds
Copy the agent prompt out of the location's custom values into a document. Export contacts to CSV. Screenshot the workflows that call SimpleTalk, note the tags the agent applied (qualified, booked, not interested) and the calendars it booked into. Write down transfer numbers and business hours.
Pause the broken automations
Disable every GoHighLevel workflow step, Zapier zap or Make scenario that posts to SimpleTalk's webhook. While they run, leads get marked as contacted when nobody called. Keep a list of the leads that entered those workflows since September 25 so a person can follow up.
Secure the phone numbers
If the numbers are in your own Twilio account, you will connect that account to Centerfy in the next step and import them; nothing changes for callers. If they are in Vonage, start a port to Twilio or Telnyx and keep the Vonage account open until the port completes. If SimpleTalk owned the carrier account, buy new numbers and update every listing.
Start the Centerfy build
Start the free build from your website URL, or book the onboarding call. Share the prompt, business hours, qualification questions, booking rules, transfer numbers and the calendars. Centerfy's team builds the agent; you do not log in to a builder. Connect your Twilio account under Settings and Integrations and import the numbers; a Centerfy coach does this with you.
Reconnect GoHighLevel
Centerfy's CRM is built on GoHighLevel. On the White Label plan the workspace installs into your own GoHighLevel agency, so your sub-accounts, calendars and workflows stay where they are. On Starter and Unlimited, Centerfy provides the CRM and you import your contacts and recreate the calendars. Replace the SimpleTalk webhook in your workflows with Centerfy's API or webhook so outbound calls start again.
Test, then switch
Run six test calls and check each in the CRM: a successful booking, no availability, a transfer that is answered, a transfer that is missed, an opt-out, and a failed connection. When all six land correctly, point the imported numbers at the Centerfy agent and remove the temporary forwarding. Keep a human fallback for the first week.
What Centerfy sets up for you
- The inbound and outbound voice agent, from your existing prompt, with qualification, booking, transfers and SMS follow-up.
- Your Twilio numbers imported, so callers dial the same number and the same number handles AI calls and texts.
- The GoHighLevel connection: contacts, tags, notes, calendars and the workflow trigger for outbound calls.
- Test calls with you before traffic moves, and onboarding coaches afterwards.
- For agencies: a white-label workspace with client sub-accounts, your branding and usage rebilled at your markup.
Agency migrations: many client accounts
If you resold SimpleTalk to clients, inventory every location first: client, numbers and carrier account, prompt saved or not, calendars, workflows that call SimpleTalk, and monthly minutes. Order the list by inbound call volume, because those clients are losing the most, and migrate in that order. On the White Label plan each client becomes a sub-account in your branded workspace, their numbers import from their Twilio accounts, and you rebill their usage at your markup. See Replacing SimpleTalk in GoHighLevel for the sub-account details.
